So I heard a movie is being made from William P. Young's The Shack (a great book if you haven't read it). Every time I think of the movie I keep imagining the main characters being played by the cast of LOST.

wow that's a great call. although, I have an extremely difficult time picturing John Locke as the kidnapper. I'm re-reading it again right now and those images will definitely be in my head!

I have been wondering about who might be cast for a "The Shack" movie for some time now.
My idea is:
Mack: William H. Macy seems like a good fit. His past roles have often been quirky, but I think he could play the role of mack quite well.
Papa - Queen Latifa - Thought of her immediately, and she certainly has the soul to play this part.
Jesus - I am not sure of this one just now but perhaps Liam Neeson. The recent loss of his spouse may trigger an amazing performance.
Sarayu - Lucy Lu -
Kidnapper - Probably could dig up Lee Ving for this one.

I was thinking Della Reese as Papa, and Patrick Dempsey as Mack, ummm, i have no idea who i would cast to be Jesus or Sarayu, but, i was thinking Sophia could be Tilda Swinton or Cate Blanchett.
I totally agree that Della Reese should be Papa. The roll she played in Touched by an Angel was the first thing I thought of when I read the book.
My immediate thought, which I still like is Naveen Andrews as Jesus. The physical description is pretty much dead on for him. I also have thought of Dennis Quaid as Mack and Della Reese (Touched by an Angel) as Papa.
